BIYSC is an education program organized by Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. Through the website we offer the service online, 24/7, to perform payment of the registration fee of BIYSC.

The use of this website attributes the condition of user and implies acceptance of the provisions contained in these Terms and Conditions as published by BIYSC the same time the user accesses the web.

You represent that you have needed to act and contract on the website under the below breakdown conditions, which states understand and accept legal capacity.

The user undertakes to use services and content in the website in accordance with the Act and the Terms and Conditions and particular services BIYSC offers at any time, and must refrain from using them for:

  • Transmit to unauthorized parties your username and password, and must immediately inform BIYSC access by an unauthorized user to this information.
  • Input data programs that could cause damage to BIYSC computer systems, its suppliers or third users of the internal network or this website on the net.
  • Conduct illicit activities, contrary to good faith, customs, morals or public order.
  • Conduct activities in breach of the regulations on intellectual property, or any other applicable legal standard.
  • Reproduce, duplicate, sell or exploit for commercial purposes any website content.
  • Disseminate content that is racist, xenophobic, pornographic, justifying terrorism and/or that violates human rights.


The registration fee for participating in BIYSC covers: accommodation and meals during the whole stay, the material used in each of the projects, transportation to the research centers, activities and programmed visits, remuneration of the researchers, lecturers and staff, and accident and civil responsibility insurance. The registration fee does not cover travel to the rendezvous site, health insurance, costs before or after the program, or the cost of passports, visas or other costs, and will be your responsibility.

The registration fee comprises a first nonrefundable deposit and a final payment. The total amount can be paid in full. Your space will be reserved upon receipt of the nonrefundable deposit amount, that must be issued within 14 days of receipt of the acceptance email to the program. If you have made a deposit, your final payment is due 40 days before the program start date. Please, refer to your confirmation email for the specific date on which the final payment is due. If you have not paid in full by this date, BIYSC reserved the right to cancel your participation place and your nonrefundable deposit will be retained by Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. No refund of the registration fee will be made. In the event that BIYSC cannot occur and/or the participant cannot attend, the refund conditions for both payments are indicated below.

All payments must be submitted in EUROS. You may pay with MasterCard, American Express or Visa. We prefer to receive your deposit and final payment by debit or credit card. Should you need to pay via bank transfer, please contact the BIYSC organization through the email address



On rare occasions, BIYSC or any specific research project of the program may be canceled by Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. This usually occurs if the program or the project does not meet the minimum number of participants required. If Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation cancels BIYSC program for this reason or for any other reason within Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation's control, we will refund 100% of what you have paid at the time of cancellation. If Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation cancels the specific research project in which the participant has been accepted for this reason or for any other reason within Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation's control, at first place we will offer to the participant the possibility to attend any other project within BIYSC if places are available. In the event of not complying with the conditions stated above we will refund 100% of what you have paid at the time of cancellation. The refund will be made by the same payment method that was originally used (credit card or wire transfer).

Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation can take no responsibility for any cancellation or amendment penalties that your travel company may charge you if you have to change your travel plans as a result of cancellation by Catalunya La Pedrera. Your travel arrangements are subject to the terms and conditions of the travel company through which you booked your travel. Participants are encouraged to buy flexible, refundable tickets. We strongly advise you to purchase Trip Cancellation insurance.


If you wish to cancel your place in BIYSC program please inform Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation as soon as possible. Your cancellation will be confirmed with an email from BIYSC organization; you should not consider your participation canceled until you have received this confirmation.

If you cancel less than 40 days before BIYSC program start date, Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation will retain 100% of your registration fee. If you cancel 40 days or more before BIYSC program start date, the final payment will be refunded, but the non-refundable deposit will be retained by Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. The refund will be made by the same payment method that was originally used (credit card or wire transfer). It is your responsibility to ensure you understand any such terms prior to signing up.


By registering in BIYSC through, user is assigned a user name and shall determine a password. The user must properly safeguard keys and passwords provided for access as a registered user, as are personal and confidential, so the user is responsible for its use by a third party to which the user has provided the information on the payment process. The user is responsible for providing their data correctly in procurement processes set out in the website.


Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation guarantees the protection of personal data by users in the payment process of BIYSC registration fee through the website. In order to improve the service and adapt it to the user’s preferences, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation website pages use cookies for navigation. The user can choose to configure his navigator so that it warns of the reception of the cookies and prevents them from being installed on the hard disc.

In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2016/679, of 27 April, we inform you that the personal data you supply via our website, by telephone or by email will be dealt with confidentially and incorporated in a database property of Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. In compliance with the Law 37/1992 of 28 December on Value Added Tax (Article 20, Section 1, Number 9 of the Value Added Tax Act), VAT is not applicable on registration fees for education programs. Thus, final prices shown on screen are not subjected to taxation.
